Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick to join Obama for town hall about race, policing

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has been invited to attend a televised town hall Thursday with President Barack Obama focusing on race relations and policing.

The one-hour TV special, called The President & the People: A National Conversation, will take place in Washington, according to a news release from Patrick.

ABC News said the town hall will focus on race relations, justice, policing and equality.

On Wednesday, Patrick launched a fundraising drive for families of the five officers killed last week in Dallas. The first contribution was $5,000 from his and his wife.

1. This should be interesting.

My jaw dropped when I saw Ted Cruz getting off Air Force One. All he has ever done is badmouth Obama. Cruz & certainly Patrick aren't in the same game as Obama, let alone the same league. Cruz was out played when he stepped off of the plane, it will be interesting to see how Patrick stacks up.

2. If Dan Patrick knows better he will be courteous and not try to start anything.

However, Dan Patrick is an idiot so President Obama will be ready to put him in his place and it will be another day that Texas will be embarrassed by its leaders.

Patrick is DISGUSTING, and NO amount of charity work changes that....he is a DISGRACE
