WASHINGTON, May 31, 2012 -- /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) applauds the work of the Washington, DC Joint Terrorism Task Force for the investigation into and the arrest of white supremacist Douglas Story.

According to the FBI, law enforcement became aware of Story through a posting he had made on an Aryan Nations website. Story had purportedly indicated that he was preparing to buy an AK-47 with the intention of having the weapon altered to become fully automatic. Story allegedly stated that he &quot was) planning on ambushing and murdering any law enforcement officer that stops him on the street if and when martial law is enacted in the United States."

Story has often been active on white supremacy online forums, where he has expressed his hatred toward minority populations and his wish that President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder be "removed from office 'with a 30.06.'"

David C. Friedman, ADL's Washington, DC Regional Director, issued the following statement:

We applaud the work of the FBI and the U.S. Secret Service for their diligence throughout this investigation and their professionalism in carrying out Story's arrest. A strong message has been sent that our law enforcement agencies are committed to fighting domestic terrorism.
