How Sen. Sanders can encourage and help America veer to the left

I don't think it is any secret that I wasn't a Sanders supporter. That doesn't mean that he cannot have an even larger effect on the American political landscape than he has had so far. And the Democratic Party.

Here's how:

1. Run again for Senate from Vermont and let that be known now.
2. Run as a Democrat and encourage people to join the Democratic Party for the future because there is room in the tent for lefties in the Democratic Party, as shown by how well Sen. Sanders did.
3. Help get other Democrats elected by endorsing and going to their districts and building relationships. Do this a whole lot. Only the candidates you really like, or some you can stand. Just remember, the more, the merrier.
4. Drop the Larry David impression. That is, the whining and shouting. You are very frickin' charming when you try.
5. Suggest that your supporters do all of the above steps too. You will not live forever, and you will want heirs. Warren would be an heir, except she is only 10 years younger than you. Absolutely cultivate her, but the future needs more people.

Your call for supporters to run for office was wonderful, and a first step for steps 1 to 5. Rinse, lather and repeat, every damn day, from sun up to sundown and then to bedtime.

1. Funny you should bring up Larry David.

Never liked him.

His impression came across as what Larry David would look like if he pretended to be Bernie Sanders.

2. Yes, well I found it very funny because it was a caricature that got

at Sanders weakness as the public at large viewed him.

One of the funniest people ever in D.C. was Al Gore in private. He kept that out of public view so that he wouldn't be labelled a clown. Al Franken does the same thing. And it must be tough.

Politicians don't get to be themselves. They play kabuki. My take is that Sanders has a platform opportunity now in excess of what Sarah Palin had, and should use it showing mostly, if not only, nice buy Bernie, and not so much louder, "I'm walkin' here" Bernie from Brooklyn.

3. I think the angry old man was the role assigned by the media.

So Larry David was portraying an angry old man.

Where you saw anger, I saw passion.

I listened to what he said and understood what he was saying and hy he was saying it.

I never saw any anger.

Sanders is the Real Deal.
