John McLaughlin is still moderating and he looks and sounds like shit. Age has attacked him. The rest of the cast is much much older too.

My exposure to McLaughlin has been mininal, to say the least. Most of what I've ever seen of him was years and years ago and extremely occasionally here on DU so I was not familiar with nor do I remember his habit of interupting with "WRONG!"

2. McLaughlin was the first to reduce political discourse to shouting interruption

Afaik, he introduced 2 major terrible ideas in destroying political discourse in our country:
1) that it was entertaining to outshout and interrupt people rather than to engage what they were saying; and
2) that it was perfectly fine to have 3 or 4 right-wingers on a panel of 5 people. Not to mention to have one of those right-wingers give the final verdict and label it "the correct answer".

It's hard to imagine, but once upon a time, political discourse was civil, respectful, and constructive. You often found democrats agreeing with republicans and yes, even republicans agreeing with democrats. Those days are long gone thanks to mclaughlin
