KKK applies for Adopt-A-Highway program
BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. The Georgia Department of Transportation is waiting to make a controversial decision on whether to allow a Ku Klux Klan group to adopt a highway.
They've now asked the state Attorney General's Office to help in the decision.
The KKK wants its name on an Adopt-A-Highway sign on Georgia Highway 515. It would be the first thing drivers headed north into the county would see.

That they are even "agonizing" over this is quite troubling

(20,885 posts)Assume they will exist anyway. What would you rather they do?
My atheist group used to clean a section of road. I'm sure there were people who hated seeing our credit as much as people will hate seeing these racist scumbag assholes raking debris. But what better way to have them spend their time. It's time they won't spend at bigotry, and a possible source for other ideas.
I prefer they don't exist, but as they do, let the pick up debris.

(53,475 posts)... or maybe the Malcom X Memorial Highway? Just assign them a stretch of road, then change the name.
