Bristol Palin Reality Show. Who is to blame?

The problem is providing content to a 24 hour 7 day a week entertainment cable business. That's why we have such mediocre programming. Repos shows, swamp people, ice road truckers, reruns and re runs, duck dynasty. These shows are cheap to produce and are profitable.

If Mark Twain or William Shakespeare were alive today all their work would be shown in one season. We would then have Romeo and Juliet meat Godzilla, Hamlet IV, Huckleberry Finn goes to college and so on.

It is very hard to come up with quality programming, but the time slots have to be filled.

Any mention on the net/media, good or bad, is a plus for that cable station. Want her to disappear from the airwaves? Never mention her again.

If Bristol's mom was not Sarah Palin she would be on her third husband
by now and would have a criminal record too. (just saying)

More dumb fuck TV that I will never watch.

her alone in CA. Hasselbeck was tying herself in knots over how hard it was to be a young mother alone with a family so far away and Sherry was hitting the "woman of faith" hammer. I chuckled to hear Joy and Whoopie school those two in what it was like when women birthed and were sent home back in the day. Whoopie sent a message out to Bristol to let her know that this was part of growing up. Wonder if anyone ever told her this in first person.

I was recalling becoming a mother at 19 a state away and then moving half the world away by the time I was Bristol's age. I have less sympathy for this young woman than I do others in less privileged circumstances. My momma used to say that sometimes you need to sleep in the bed you made. You learn to live with consequences of your choices or you learn to make meaningful changes in your life so you don't repeat the bad ones.

8. In my view cable has ruined television

Most of these shows on cable are 'reality' shows which are aimed at the lowest common denominator. TV has always had a fair amount of junk but there is just more of it these days. Cable News Channels are no better. I think the days when we had the three networks plus PBS with news people like Walter Cronkite, John Chancellor, David Brinkley, McNeil-Learer & Frank Reynolds were much better.

Which is just as trashy a show (but I will admit it is my guilty pleasure)
