http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2012/05/the_trial_and_tribulations_of.htmlMystery shrouds Bobby Thompson, accused of bilking hundreds for fake charity
Published: Sunday, May 20, 2012, 9:38 PM
<snip>For nearly eight years he was the guy who ran a multimillion-dollar national charity from a modest duplex in Tampa, Fla., and schmoozed with Republican political elite all the way up to former President George W. Bush. A Cincinnati TV station said he made contributions to Ohio politicians including former senators George Voinovich and Mike DeWine, who is now the state's attorney general prosecuting Thompson.
Thompson met all charity-reporting requirements, providing information that officials now say was often fictitious.
He juggled bank accounts by the dozens and aliases by the fistfuls, including identities stolen from Navajo Indians, veterans and even a deceased police officer.
Still, he managed to set up what authorities suspect was the start of another charity with a webcam-equipped church in his apartment in Rhode Island.

Boy, this story sure fell off the media radar fast, didn't it? Wonder if this fellow had been schmoozing with President Obama if it would have received more coverage?

But somehow Ken Cuccinelli saw no need to investigate this crook who gave $55, 000 to his campaign.

Guess he was too busy filing lawsuits against Obama and prying into the affairs of climate change scientists.
