Leadsom beats Gove to join May on shortlist for Conservative leadership ballot

Since the Tories don't have to call an election, I expect they will simply appoint the new prime minister. Brexit will proceed under Conservative leadership. All the Conservative candidates are deeply flawed. I feel for the UK.

1) Why would the Tories call an election?
2) Jeremy Corbyn.

We're probably stuck with the Tories for the next nine years. I'm not looking forwards to it.
