was the one with the second-largest number of votes in the Electoral College.

Sometime in the 19th Century the political parties started having a slate of both a President and a Vice President.

And there will be someone willing to be the Donald's VP choice.

If Trump won and had no running mate, then the Electoral College would choose someone. The EC *does* have to choose a VP.
