I think part of the problem is that we tend to be more forgiving the further back we go, or maybe it's just that our anger only lasts so long.

I've seen all sorts of pro-Eisenhower posts here, and his use of the CIA was responsible for tens of thousands of deaths in Guatemala, not to mention that the toppling of Mossadegh in Iran was key to the hostage crisis that was largely responsible for bringing down Jimmy Carter.
