(70,582 posts)cheat elctions, put don siegleman into jail, and lie to start a war and Rove and his
"new reality" right in the middle.
J. Goebbels, If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.

(16,856 posts)For the past 35 years or so, they have created this new reality where facts don't matter and learned people are ridiculed.
Fox News and other media outlets reinforce this new reality. That's why Fox watchers are such addicts and RWers insist on talking about politics all the time. When they're away from Limbaugh, Hannity, etc. they are in another reality that they don't grasp and it makes them very uncomfortable.

(47,593 posts)non-political people talked about sports, TV, the neighbors, religion, etc. Republicans lured those people to the polls and now they are stuck with them and we are stuck with the choices they made.
