Do grandparents really get bored after talking about their grandkids for 9 seconds?

As Trump bloviated when attacking the Clinton/Lynch plane meeting.

Trump, "I love my grandchildren, but if I talk about them for more than nine or 10 seconds, after that, what are you going to say?" he said of his eight grandkids.

After the 9 seconds, he has to go back to his favorite topic: the Donald.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If it's not about him, he can't focus for more than 10 seconds at a time.

Carlin: (Me paraphrasing) So your friend takes a string of pictures of her grand-kid out of her purse and you are stuck looking at the 200th picture of the kid. Well, ya gotta learn how to head this stuff off before it gets to that point....

When the first picture comes out, you take it in your hand, look at it and exclaim,

"Wow, will ya look at the fuckin' head on that kid. Where are you gonna find a hat to fit that head?"

That will put a stop to it right then and there.

except my grandson who is a prince. I cannot get enough time with him and I live for every word out of his mouth.

I adore him and I say this after traveling with him in a car for two days. We are on a vacay road trip!

I text my grandkids and tell them I miss them on vacations, I encourage them on their sport events (if they are too far away for me to attend). I send jokes and cartoons and encouraging words. We go for ice cream when they win and lose, we have sleep overs and dumb movies and tickle and giggle and laugh and sometimes cry, we bury beloved goldfish together (with appropriate honors)... and beloved great grandparents together... With tears and memories of fishing and walking together on the beach.

We honor our families and traditions.

You, sir, are not a grandparent.
