"Sometimes you have to do something out of the ordinary, sometimes you have to make a way out of no way."
My colleague Rep. John Lewis spoke these words earlier today, and I could not be prouder to be sitting-in on the House floor right now by his side.
We've had too many moments of silence, too many lists of victims, and shamefully too many lost opportunities for action. Enough silence, it's time for action. We want a vote on common sense gun violence prevention measures now.

(34,136 posts)Gwen Graham, District 5, Florida, was the Representative that I was able to vote for in 2014. With the re-districting approved by the courts, I am now in District 2 which is currently held by Corrine Brown who is running for re-election this year.
