(80,708 posts)one difference is, he was born into this role. He didnt have any choice in the matter.
So if the British people like having the facade of a traditional monarchy, and as others have noted as an institution the royal family generates significant revenue, tourist and otherwise- who am I to judge?
I find the idea a bit archaic, but like I said, he didnt ask to be put in this position... and to date he has handled it with really exceptional style and grace.

(10,176 posts)I had my second baby right with his mom, 11 days before he was born and I always felt a connection with her. I had my final baby 2 months before Harry as well.
When William was born our town sent a huge package of gifts (that were later distributed to those in need). I can always remember his full name because one of our local radio stations has the call letters, WAPL, William Arthur Philip Louis. Our town sent WAPL cups, T-shirts, hats, etc., among other things. It was a fun time when the Royal kids were born!
