(11,746 posts)I drove the Volt. Awesome, both in terms of what it is and in terms of the price.
I bought a Cruze Eco for half the price and I think it's pretty awesome too. In fact I am very impressed by Chevy's entire lineup. Thanks President Obama!
Interestingly I am on the Chevy Cruze forum and saw them excoriating FoxPAC for its war on "Obama Motors" and the Volt.

(121 posts)Thanks for buying a Chevy! I bought a Malibu last year and LOVE it. My friends with Honda & Toyota admit it's better. Always amuses me when I see a "I want my country back" bumper sticker on a foreign car!!

(7,170 posts)Used with low mileage. Great. Car. Love. Driving. It.
Actually it is my husbands (at least nominally!!!).
I have an integra with 180k on it and am trying to eke out another year before I buy a car. I thought I would buy another Acura but I have changed my mind. Will definitely consider a volt. I just want to wait as long as I can so that the mileage improves as I am sure it will.
Really love the electric part of the car...just keep playing with the dash to see how much mileage is on electric. We are saving a lot on gas as we are using it for local trips. Even on long trips we are saving money.
Love the styling. First American car in a while that I can say that. No oil change till 100k. Nice. Apparently the repair costs are much lower, as well.
Good job, Detroit !!! It's a shame this car got politicized. Chevy should stand up and take a bow for this. My rightwing neighbor hasn't said anything about the car... Although they do love playing keep up with the Jones, so maybe they are feeling inferior. Or they actually believe fox and think we bought a toy.
If you live in Colorado, buy the car. With the federal and state incentives, it is $23000. Out there, the car is flying off the lots.

(7,170 posts)A number of auto makers are rolling out different versions of electric cars. And you know how long it takes for car companies to retool. So it's a comming.

(12,549 posts)always have their panties in a bunch? American business fails, panties in a bunch. American business succeeds, panties in a bunch. Obama succeeds where they fail, panties in a bunch. Rmoney, Boner, McConnell, Cantor lie without compunction, never mind. This is why I refuse to have anything but a passing conversation with them.
GM back on top is a good thing and yes Republicans hate the American working class. I suffer neither fools nor scumbags.

(37,453 posts)will increase its all-electric range from 35 to 38 miles pg. on a charge,
The 2013 Volt's total range is 382 miles. A gasoline powered engine/generator seamlessly kicks on once battery power is exhausted to provide drivers 344 miles on a full tank of gas.
