Re: Trump's argument for why Judge Curiel should recuse himself from the Trump U case:

If Trump were to succeed in forcing Judge Curiel to recuse because of Trump's hostility to Latinos, and were to succeed in disqualifying any Muslim judge from hearing the case because of his anti-Muslim stance as well, wouldn't he basically establish a precedent that a person could exempt himself from any civil proceedings simply by insulting people from every ethnic group and religion in the country?

No black judge about anti-black racism, no women judge have a rape case (no men, for that matter, either)...

It's just Trumpian blather.

would say about his sister (a federal judge) being asked to recuse herself from a case with Jewish defendants due to her German background. Would he consider that appropriate?

carry no legal weight and, in fact, harm the accuser's side of any case where such issues are brought up.

The Problem With Calling Out Judges for Their Race
Donald Trump has no legal justification for questioning Gonzalo Curiel.

You can't have one of these head a trial about Trump. Totally biased for Trump.

this judge to recuse. They're just making noise in the press. If they had actual proof of bias, they would serve it up and petition for recusal. The fact they haven't just proves they got nothing. His lawyers would get sanctioned and it would stain their records for the rest of their careers.
