3,000 knives confiscated at NRA convention before Trump speech

The National Rifle Association is an organization of moral mutants masquerading as defenders of “freedom.” The specific freedom they’re eager to defend, of course, is the freedom to arm oneself to the teeth with a range of military-grade weaponry, regardless of the inevitable consequences to the life, liberty, happiness, and other freedoms, of everyone else. These are the goons who will rush to push their agenda and fight any hint of reasonable regulation while the blood is still wet on a classroom of gunned down 10-year-olds. They care about nothing but themselves.

So it’s only logical that this past weekend the NRA invited Donald Trump to speak at their annual meeting and gunapalooza in Louisville, Kentucky. Trump delivered what the Lexington Herald-Ledger called “a collection of unsubstantiated claims and fantastical promises.” Along with his usual shtick about building a “great wall” and “winning again,” Trump ginned up the gun-hungry crowd by claiming that Hillary Clinton would attempt to “abolish” the Second Amendment.

Security was tight with Trump around, which makes for an odd contrast at an event celebrating the erotic appeal of the machine gun. Unlike the rest of the convention, weapons weren’t allowed into Trump’s hairspace — not even the humble knife, a tool that’s been in use since man could chip rock. Many attendees were apparently unaware of this as some 3,000 knives (and presumably a few bayonets) were confiscated at check-in. A volunteer who helped collect the knives said the precautions were demanded by the Secret Service.

That is all venues that presidential candidates are present at. Do you think the an NRA function should be above this?

6. General Guide to Knife Laws

Ownership Laws

Ownership laws forbid individuals from owning certain types of knives that society has deemed “deadly weapons” or “dangerous.” Most of the time, these knives were once associated with unlawful people such as gangs, the mob, and outlaws. It is for this reason that the Bowie knife has been outlawed in so many states.

Carry Laws

Carry laws forbid an individual from carrying, concealed or open, certain knives. For example, some states forbid an individual from conceal carry of knives over a certain length but open carry of that same knife is legal. Other states forbid the carry, concealed and open, of certain knives. Most knives that are barred from carry are ones deemed by society to have no utility uses and, therefore, their only use is as weapons.

Other Laws

Some states have laws that forbid one from aggravated display of a knife as well as committing a crime with a knife. These laws are usually only enforceable after the fact and, for that reason, allows the state to increase the penalty of a crime. For example, robber is a bad crime but robbery with a knife is viewed as an even worse crime and should be punished more than simple robbery.

I also haven't seen this story posted by a reputable source, but in any event if the Secret Service made the call...what does this have to do with the NRA?

Good work, SecMo. I don't care what you imply about gun owners, I'm just happy to get a response from you when you initiate these discussions so frequently.

Hope you are doing well.

If this gig with Brock doesn't work out, I'll have to call up the NRA and see if we can work out a deal.

That's a joke of course, but you might appreciate it.

That was pretty funny. "Online Solider of Fortune"....hope it's ok if I use that later on down the road.

No joking around, I wish you would post more of these zingers in GC&RKBA. I don't see any issue with having polite discussions, even if there are significant disagreements.
