They don't think they're racists

Freeperville is orgasmic. They uniformly think Trump will win in the biggest blowout since St. Ronnie. But I'm struck by how the hate for Hillary is matched by the hate for Obama which is all about their naked racism which they insist isn't racism. In fact, they insist Obama is the racist.

These are Trump's base.

There have always been racists around. Was that enough to win, McCain or Romney would have won.

Why Trump is dangerous is that he's tapping in
- the 2008 economic crisis discontent (->protectionism)
- which fostered a distrust of the establishment (R + D), political financing included

Trump can only be defeated by showing why his solutions do not solve these problems.

My two cents.

Trump has tapped into xenophobia and white resentment.

To your final point.

People either get that he is unfit to serve or not, pointing out that he is unfit to serve only makes him more appealing to the jackasses who are supporting him.

The people in the "middle" who are not already voting for him or likely Hillary, they know he isn't fit to serve.

The alternative to that has to be there to give them the other choice.

This is PRECISELY the mistake Obama made, and continued to make, for the first years of his presidency. They are incapable of critical thinking, possibly for genetic reasons in many cases, and factual analysis or logic will not convince them. It is best to ignore them and instead spend the time and money encouraging the non-voting part of our population to participate.

Terming themselves African-Americans would indicate that they have one foot still in the Dark Continent and the other on the throat of America.

If they keep up their childish destruction of property, their murderous rampages, their birthing babies by the dozen with numerous sperm donors, the race is as doomed as is Venezuela.

I place much of the blame on the dead head of Lyndon Bird Johnson and his lousy Great Society where the traditional father was replaced by a welfare check and food stamps and the mothers and daughters were turned into whores and the sons into illiterate drug dealers.

I am for expansion of the death penalty which would, among other things, include the execution of those who sell and use drugs.

You need to get a grip, and some decency.

If so, you still haven't gotten a grip. On reality.

I'm not going to take up your "challenge" because so much of what is posted in DU these days is tripe that I wouldn't defend.

But there is a clear difference between that freeper quote and what passes our terms of service here at DU. If you can't see that, you are being willfully blind.

and others who castigated that OP furiously is not honest. In fact, that tactic becomes very similar to the tactic of the Stockholm thread itself. That OP targeted African Americans and LGBT. Those of you who cite that OP never, ever mention the LGBT nor that many of us who support Bernie let that OP have the full force of our unhindered criticism.

You continue to use that OP to smear some of the very people who argued best against that OP. Your cohort does that habitually, regularly and it is in fact exploitative to do so. You bash us all with the act of one person. One person many of us objected to more strongly that any others.

It's wrong. And I object to it just as I did to the Stockholm OP itself.

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

Links to freerepublic should not be allowed on DU, period. We shouldn't be giving them page hits of any kind.
Besides, anyone who has been paying attention already knows that many, if not most, Trump supporters are delusional, racist morons. This isn't news; it's likely just another thinly-veiled "look how much people hate Obama and Clinton" post.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Mon May 30, 2016, 09:51 AM, and the Jury voted 1-6 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: This is an interesting alert. I agree with not supporting FR, but the OP is making clear it's racist. I'm saying leave it on this one.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Sorry this isn't a hideable post.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: This wasn't even worthy of an alert. When the message gets back to me, I'm going to alert on the alerter.

Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

I do not like, nor do I trust, Hillary Clinton. But Hillary on her worst day is many orders of magnitude better than that piece of shit, Trump, on his best day.

I am a stalwart Bernie supporter, and not just because he is one of my senators, or that I have met and spoken with him, or that he intervened personally (and successfully) on behalf of a friend's veteran son at my request. I am a stalwart Bernie supporter because, after following his career closely for forty years, I KNOW, from personal experience, that he is an honest man. But if he doesn't win, I will support Hillary.

The people that REALLY piss me off are the sanctimonious twits among Bernie's supporters who say they will not support Clinton if she wins the nomination. The hubris of such a short-sighted decision is beyond belief. To put the nation at risk of a Trump presidency just because they didn't get their own way reflects an infantile selfishness that cannot be condoned under such dire circumstances.
