Dog Missed Having a Cat, So They Found Him a New Friend

Source: Lovemeow

Forsberg, a 10-year-old Golden Retriever, grew up snuggling with his best friend, a ginger cat. The two shared an inseparable bond.

The cat-loving dog always napped with his feline buddy and the ginger cat loved him the same.

Two years ago, the 15-year-old ginger passed away, and Forsberg was very confused and always looking for his cuddle buddy.

"Forsberg really missed having a cat," Jen Philion, Forsberg's owner, said via reddit.

So Jen decided to bring home a new kitty buddy for Forsberg to cuddle with.

"Problem solved!" It was love at first sight.

We have a 90 lb Airdale and an 18 lb Papilion/Toy poodle. They aren't socialized to be around other dogs or animals, but either would be lost without the other. The loving interaction between them is really remarkable to witness.

lonely and depressed avig come from a farm with several dogs. I told her we needed another dog to cure "Sophie's" depression. As part of a settlement with DuPont who had killed her mother, a huge animal lover, who spent all her money on rescuing stray animals and their vet bills, DuPont donated $100,000 to our local Humane Society. I lobbied our client to make the donation to the local Humane Society where her mother lived. They were in the process of raising the last money needed for a huge new facility and they agreed to name the 100 acre dog park they had planned after her mother. In return they donated a dog to my disabled brother and I adopted a dog as an anti-depressant for my mom's dog.

I called my daughter from the shelter to ask her names of anti-depressant medications (she is a pharmacy tech while in school). As I had to assured her I wasn't being put on anti-depressants and to just give me some names. She rattled off several before she said Lexipro. I said, "That's it!" I named her Lexi and she cured Sophie immediately!

Right after the adoptions the local Humane Societies old building caught fire and burned, killing 77 dogs and cats. It would have been 79. Donations can be made to the Southeast Texas Humane Society in Beaumont, Texas.

He looks much like my kitty who I rescued as a tiny kitten from a grocery store parking lot. With apologies to LOL Cats, my favorite thread of the day...

Thank you such a nice change from all the political posts. This is greatly appreciated. My dog lost her "brother" last year and she has grieved ever since.

Both were strays and I really wonder if they had crossed paths before I adopted them, the introduction was just too easy.

for food, DNA-diverse species get along fine in the animal world.

All humans are 99.9 per cent identical and, of that tiny 0.1 per cent difference, 94 per cent of the variation is among individuals from the same populations and only six per cent between individuals from different populations.

They are the hardest to adopt and we will never adopt any other cat (unless one adopts us first!).

Thank you and blessings to you.

There is a reason so many animals like having cats around. Because they are awesome!
