https://progressnownm.org/2016/05/25/the-actual-trump-protest-was-nothing-like-the-one-you-saw-on-the-news/Donald Trumps brand of bigotry came to New Mexico Tuesday, prompting plenty of Burqueños to gather downtown for an alternative event, #LoveTrumpsHate.
Some local and national press refocused on a handful of people at events after the Trump rally and put the day in a bad light, but the event attended by hundreds of families and community members was a peaceful, fun event.
Albuquerque Police later tweeted that protesters were gone when things got rowdy.

(33,222 posts)Anyone wonder why Bernie and Clinton both have had events in NM over the last two weeks with no trouble?
Disruptions typical to this are par for the likes of Il Douche.

It was another example of the push and pull of a riotous Tuesday night in Downtown Albuquerque, ignited by a mix of protesters, people attending a Donald Trump rally and folks just looking for trouble.
City Councilor Ken Sanchez, a Democrat, thanked Albuquerque Police Department for its work.
Last night, he said, officers had literally hundreds of opportunities to engage the protestors with violence, but instead, at their own peril, they patiently redirected them until they dispersed.
Sanchez added that the violence that erupted last night was not the result of peaceful protests by local community action groups, but rather was the result of incitement by a small but organized group of trouble makers whose sole intent was to act out.
Police officers, volunteer peacekeepers in yellow vests and other ordinary folks stepped in repeatedly to try defuse confrontations, help the fallen stand up and clean up the trash. They also held hands, at one point, to form a human barrier between protesters and police officers. http://www.abqjournal.com/780609/the-day-after-protesters-trump-supporters-trade-blame-take-stock.html

(10,998 posts)and other items, people jumping and running on the tops of police cars, windows were broken on the Convention Center, rocks being thrown.
The witnesses stated that the trump rally goers were funneled out a back entrance, so as not to become enmeshed with the Trump protestors. Alot of protestors were told by trump to leave his rally inside the Conv. Ctr.
Basically the protestors present before and during the rally were peaceful. The mayhem started after the rally was over.
