DON'T GET TRUMPED

During the Republican primary, Donald Trump stood out from his competition by promising not to cut Social Security benefits.
But now that Trump has the nomination in hand, he's changing his tune to appeal to Paul Ryan and his billionaire donors.

At an annual meeting convened by Pete Peterson -- a Wall Street billionaire who has spent 30 years and pledged more than $500,000,000 crusading to cut Social Security -- a top Trump policy advisor indicated that Trump was open to cutting Social Security and Medicare.

Which Trump can you trust?
In 2000, Donald Trump wrote that Social Security was a "Ponzi scheme."
He proposed raising the retirement age to 70 and claimed that "Privatization would be good for all of us."
And as recently as 2011, he was still on board with cuts, but warned Republicans:
"not to fall into the Democratic trap" by cutting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid without
bi-partisan support.

For a brief moment, over the past 10 months, you might have thought that Donald Trump was changing his tune.
He very cleverly used Social Security as a way to distinguish himself from his primary opponents -- who overwhelmingly advocated for cuts to Social Security.
But even as he branded himself as Social Security's defender, he warned voters that Democrats "want to increase it. They want to actually give more. And that's what were up against."

Polling shows that 79 percent of likely voters
-- Democrats, Republicans, and Independents - support expanding Social Security, and paying for it by asking the wealthy to pay their fair share.
As Donald Trump begins courting House Speaker Paul Ryan for his support and begins courting Wall Street billionaires for their campaign contributions, he is once again embracing the standard GOP position of cuts over expansion, and putting the interests of wealthy campaign contributors ahead of the American people.

Please stand with Social Security Works as we fight attempts by the billionaire class to dismantle Social Security.
Please sign our petition today telling Donald Trump where the American people stand:
Expand, never cut Social Security!
