why are hillary and bernie supporters so hostile

to each others candidates and their supporters.

there is so much riding on this election, we should be banding together and getting behind whoever is nominated and support our candidate right up to the final nomination without belittling opposing democratic candidates or their supporters.

come on people. we are suppose to be better than Republicans, from many of the postings i have seen on DU lately it seems we are heading down the same rabbit hole that the republican party is.

whoever is nominated for Democrats we need to just suck it up and get behind that candidate. the alternative is a very scary prospect.

yes i would like to see bernie nominated but those chances are slim now and hillary is the likely democratic candidate.

so support your candidate but do it respectfully and peacefully and when the time comes get behind whoever is nominated.

Do you Really want to see a Trump presidency with a loony town VP? i sure don't.

just some food for thought.

The anger has been building. No one is addressing it. Seems from the comments that lots and lots of folk feel shafted. Maybe someone needs to look at that? I am no crystal ball person. I do not know what will happen. I am guessing the days of sucking it up are past on both sides. Either clinton has to whole heartedly embrace the more progressive issues from the Bernie side or Bernie has to cave completely to the more right leaning clinton side. Hate to be pessimistic but I do not see either happening!

It's the personality cultists who are so passionately devoted to their candidates and just as passionately opposed to the other candidate and all his/her followers. It happens in both parties and every time there's a primary.

Most of us out there are still quite reasonable and recognize the two candidates likely have more in common than not.

But I also think that some, maybe even a lot, of the vitriol and hostility is being ginned up by folks outside the Democratic party who want to fracture it because the other major candidate is so loathsome, but they feel they have to back him.

7. Hillary voted for murder and violence in iraq

Perhsps im petty but I can't forgive her or overlook that vote for war like most democrats can. Unlike the majority, I know exactly what it is kid to stuff s body bag with a deaf Iraqi or a dead American soldier is like.

Hillary Clinton and her supporters own just as much of the murdrr and violence in Iraq as I do. Unfortunately they never had to deal with the consequences of her vote like I have. How many of get supporters have suicide scars and nightmares as s result if their part in the war on Iraq?

Fuck Hillary, her supporters, and the war on Iraq they approve of. They are disconnected from it in a way I am not. When, after they stuff a body bag of someone they murdered, they can say they are alright with the war then I'll believe it was justified.

Fuck Hillary, the war, and her naive supporters. Detachment from her policies is not something everyone gets to enjoy.

I think the real hostile ones are Trump supporters posing as Bernie or Hillary supporters.

There are plenty of hidden agendas over there and some, here, in General Discussion. Newbys -like you - should watch for Trump-trolls, after you feature true Democratic ideals in print. They will attempt to chase you away from this website. Some Freepers (right-wing, frauds, originally from the Free Republican website) impersonating progressives at DU, will condemn you in Private Messages, to reduce people willing to reply to your Opening Posts. Experienced, paid trolls - of MANY kinds - will play tech-tricks to induce you to write things that are self-destructive. There are all kinds of professional impersonators here.

Do not be too thin-skinned, when presenting ideas. Progressives and Democrats can be more judgemental than witch-hunters, during the Spanish Inquisition, when someone with only a few posts, writes a comment, slightly to the right of their personal perspective. For example, although I do not have a gun, I support The Second Amendment to the US Constitution. In fact, crooks and liars in Washington DC could resurrect The Forth Amendment, if they weren't so busy taking bribes from Wall Street and the Pentagon. Where the Hell is Russ Feingold? Long ago, I wrote that he should become president, because he was the ONLY person to vote against the USA PATRIOT ACT.
