http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article77921467.htmlGov. Sam Brownback signed a bill Monday that will reduce the number of consecutive months families can receive welfare, a policy he says will help push people out into the workforce faster.
SB 402, which Brownback signed in his ceremonial office, would reduce the time frame a family could receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families to 24 months unless approved for a hardship exemption from the state down from 36 months.
It also reduces the lifetime limit in Kansas from 48 months to 36, compared to the federal limit of five years.

(3,290 posts)good christian motherfuckers that support him. I hope he and people like him rot in hottest of hell if there is one. Same for his church, his priest and the people that glad hand him on sundays after his hypocritical church attendance.

so -kids that get expelled because they made a stupid choice will get bounced from one school to another. eventually they will get the idea that they are 'worthless' and they will end up dropping out and eventually will make their way to jail or worse

(82,849 posts)I wonder how bad things will get in Kansas before the electorate gets bumped off square one to do something about it? Then I think of a friend I have in Kansas, and I think it will have to get much, much worse. She's a dear woman, but she's bought into the trickle-on mentality, absolutely convinced people are responsible for their own misfortunes (with one glaring exception for herself).
If she's common to a lot of Kansans' mentality, buckle up or buckle down or buckle in some other direction, because the meanness is just going to get worse for a while yet.
