Trump voters are a cult. And a powder keg
Trump didn’t build this cult. It was just sitting there, readymade for him, and consisting of people who spent the past 30 to 40 years gobbling up Republican bullshit. All Trump did was tap into a portion of white, resentful Americans who were primed and ready for some nut like him to come along.
I don’t think that Trump even knew they were waiting for him. (And neither did they.) He was probably just diddling around with some new money-making scam in mind when he announced his presidential run. I doubt if he believed he would ever get this far. But here he is. And it’s possible that America has never been in greater danger since the Civil War.
Like many cults, this one is made up of “true believers” (fanatics) who ignore objective reality. And like many cults, this one is not about to quietly go away if they lose the battle.
If Trump wins the presidency, I don’t even want to think of the possible horrors that could follow. But what if he loses? Do you really think this cult will just disappear? No way. Trump voters are deadly serious about the “Make America Great Again” crap. But they want to make it “great again” for only themselves. A Trump loss could push them over the line into non-stop, guerrilla warfare against “the elite,” and “the corrupt Washington government.” However, unlike the original Civil War, this one won’t have any geographic boundaries. It might be similar to having some group of nuts like ISIS in our midst.
Terrorism will have come to America on a major scale, but with a different agenda.So am I being overly dramatic about what could come about because of Trump? Perhaps. Perhaps not. So let’s hear your thoughts.
