both Tom and I looked at his speeches et al and we concluded he had a good chance of being the nominee, and we told by many family members that we were delusional. Trump has a very good chance to become POTUS, because people keep hoping he implodes or not taking him seriously.

Just my opinion.

We need to get real about Trump and start taking him very seriously or he has a great chance of victory in November. Now, the good news is that he's doing so terribly in the polls among minorities and women so normally that would be enough to prevent his winning. BUT, if he somehow pulls off 68% or more of the white male vote, then he can still win. And I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that he win 70% of white males.

God help us if this pseudo-fascist gets into the Oval Office.

I mean he could officially drop out, lock himself in a room in Trump towers, and drink his own urine until the election, and at this point his followers would claim its just another clever campaign strategy.

This whole thing is a giant ego stroking exercise. Between his money and people willing to give him money, he can and will stay in this as long as he likes. If he wanted to, he could self-finance a modern Presidential campaign all the way to November 8th 2016, and change not one thing about his life style on November 9th.

I don't think he'll personally implode before then. The man is so delusional he believes the made-up little voice in his head that says things like "Evangelicals like you" and "You can strike a deal with Putin" and "We can build a wall, Mexico pays" in his ear. Let's say the whole nation turns and laughs at him and its late October and he's polling at 23% nationally, he will still think he is winning.

You know the kind. The guy's on the stand thinking he's got everyone convinced he's a saint that the defendant is in the fact the killer. But the defense lawyer knows the triggers and does everything he can to rattle the guy to the point of either confessing or pulling out a gun and shooting up the courtroom.

The problem here is that if anyone can compel Trump to jump the shark, his followers will not change their minds. I am stumped as to what it will take for people to see him for what he is.

I don't think it matters too much what he says or what he does. Many people are motivated to cast a "negative vote" against who they want to lose. The anti-Democratic voters will vote for Trump.
