Wrong, Paleface.
It's 100% juice, not 100% cranberry juice.
Ingredients:
Cranberry juice (Water, Cranberry juice concentrate)
Grape Juice (Water, Grape juice concentrate)
Apple Juice (Water, Apple juice concentrate)
Pear Juice (Water, Pear juice concentrate)
Natural flavors
Pectin
Ascorbic acid.
So, no; no sugar added. Just a bunch of crap that has tons of fructose.

(43,890 posts)The 64 point description in the front that says 'Cranberry' makes you think, yea, Cranberry juice.
But you have to read the 8 point text in the back to understand what's really going on.

(279 posts)not great. Other, sweeter juices are added to make it less likely to draw your lips into a permanent pucker.

We squeeze a jug full of orange juice twice a week - it takes 12 minutes to squeeze two dozen oranges.
We blend mangoes, pineapple, papaya, lime, orange or grapefruit juice, etc - sometimes we add a lil honey, sometimes we drink it as is - with crushed ice. It tastes great and it costs way less than the processed shit in the supermarket.
I have long learned not to trust a damned thing in a supermarket.

(18,868 posts)If you actually have a UTI you don't want to drink it. It makes the pain worse.
It works as a preventative. Drink some every day diluted with water and it helps to prevent UTIs.

(9,893 posts)They say it's 100% juice. When it comes to labels, you can't assume.

(4,019 posts)Straight up cranberry juice is super tart and most people don't care for it. What you're talking about is usually marketed as a cranberry-juice cocktail.
Anyway, what's up with the paleface?
Xipe Totec
(43,890 posts)I'm a paleface. I can say paleface. It's not offensive if I say paleface. Because I'm a paleface.
See how that works?
And If I was looking for Cranberry juice cocktail, I would buy the bottle labeled 'Cranberry Juice Cocktail'.
But when I'm looking for cranberry juice, I want cranberry juice; no sugar added.

(15,808 posts)Unsweetened. I wouldn't call it --- delicious. But it's true to its word.

(36,827 posts)The jury is out on whether or not it actually accomplishes anything, but it's not going to hurt.
As others have said, it's very difficult to drink straight cranberry juice. They also have pills which have the same active ingredient available OTC.
dilby
(2,273 posts)But you really can't drink it straight. I get it and do 1 part cranberry juice to 9 parts water, still tastes like hell but it helps with urinary stuff or it better because it's punishment to drink.
Xipe Totec
(43,890 posts)Basically the same thing, but you get to sweeten it however you like
Stevia? Fine.
Sweet & Low? Fine.
Sugar? Fine.
Maple Syrup? Fine.
High fructose corn syrup? Fine too.
But the point is, I get to choose my poison.
When I see 'No Sugar Added' on the label, I expect no sugar in the product.
dilby
(2,273 posts)Even 100% cranberry juice has sugar from the cranberries.
Xipe Totec
(43,890 posts)I guess if I mix a sugar free product (pure salt)

(31,464 posts)It's very bitter, that's why most store brands are juice "cocktails," mixed with grape juice and other stuff to cut them down. My favorite is something called "Antioxidant Force." It mostly pomegranate, plus elderberry, blueberry, raspberry, etc. All the good stuff, not from concentrate, no sugar added. It's strong, like cranberry juice, and expensive. So I mix it about 50/50 with seltzer. It's awesome!

(2,710 posts)include horseradish and parsley tea. Just steep fresh parsley in hot water as you would a tea bag and drink a lot of it. Also use celery seed, it's a diuretic. Pretty much anything that will keep the water flowing through will clear out the bladder.
Just drinking a lot of water sometimes clears them up.
Get the antibiotics if you need them, though, don't get a kidney infection!

(42,282 posts)Found that out when the kids were little...if you want juice that is 100% whatever, look for that specific label. "100% juice" almost always has apple, pear or grape as a major componant. Sometimes the "real" juices are mixed in with the "juice drinks", sometime you need to check the organic or health food sections (where they may even be cheaper--that's what I found at my local Kroger, anyway)
