The fresh wounds of the iraq war is still scar on this country. But out of courousity. IF its finally proven to be 100 percent that the saudi arabian government was involved in 9-11 Should we have invaded and or attacked that country?
For me im torn. With saudi arabia being the birth place of islam. id say no as any attack on them might trigger a global war with muslims (although in a small way that seems to be going on anyway) but at the same time. This wahhabi bullshit this country has influenced around the world has gotten many people killed. Not just 9-11 but many innocent people including many Muslims.

(53,410 posts)We should have pursued the criminals who did it with international law. We did it in the first attack on the World Trade Center and the terrorists who did that are rotting in our jails now.
The war was deliberately started by Bush and Cheney because they wanted one. Why else attack Iraq who never had anything to do with it.
The world is paying for the Bush greed with Isis.

Wasn't this kind of a done deal as early as 1998 via the Neo-Con Community?

(82,849 posts)That's the right answer: Pursue the surviving associates of the perpetrators, build the case against them, try them in open court, prove their guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, and send them to jail. At least, that's what a public official who swore to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution would do.
Instead, we got a bunch of claptrap about "my job is to protect the American people," which his successor has sadly said on more than one occasion. The President's job isn't to protect the American people. We aren't vulnerable, defenseless children. The President's job is right there in the Oath of Office (see previous paragraph). Without the Constitution, we don't have a United States of America.

Saudi Arabia is not Iran or even Iraq, they've never had an industrially-diverse economy. A US embargo of Saudi Arabia that is backed by the rest of NATO brings them to heel in days, not weeks.

Oddly enough that's something Gaddafi did with Libyan oil too.
We came, we saw and the petrodollar survived, for now.
