http://reverbpress.com/news/trumps-america-woman-who-painted-naked-trump-beaten-by-his-goons/Today I was punched in the face by a man who got out of his car and yelled, Trump 2016! in Los Angeles, just days after I returned home from London just down the road from my house.
A day later, Gore posted an update on the details of the assault along with a disturbing image of her facial swelling resulting from it:
This manifestation of violence is just another example of the lack of decency, respect and overall humanity that the Trump crowd has been displaying since the presumptive Republican presidential nominee announced his candidacy. And according to Gore, she was made aware many times that she would be a target of their cowardly actions. Promoting the piece, Make America Great Again to the Maddox Gallery in London, Gore said:
Ive been overwhelmed by the public reaction to the piece. While it is obviously a great shame that I cannot exhibit it in the USA due to censorship and also threats from Trump supporters to harm both myself and the artwork, I am so excited that it will finally be exhibited in a gallery space where interested parties can come and see it in the flesh. London has always had such an open-minded attitude towards art and has regularly displayed works of art that push boundaries and cause controversy, it is the perfect place to show Make America Great Again.
The image, banned on many social media platforms after it was viewed over 50 million times, made Gore the latest target of faux outrage from the Trump crowd following the lead of Mexican-Americans to women who choose to seek abortions. Now these brave, strong, tough guys are displaying their bravado by assaulting twenty-four-year-old women in the street. Whats even scarier is the likely support the assailants would have among the greater minority of Trump-loving Americans. Think of the people you know who back Trumps candidacy. Do you think theyd object?

(11,481 posts)He's not personally calling for physical intimidation against his "enemies". HOWEVER, the social forces he's playing with ARE fascist which makes him and them dangerous. Trump himself is a classic opportunist attempting to use fascistic social forces for his own ends. Think Ukraine and Maiden.
And anybody who thinks that voting for HRC (or even Bernie in the unlikely event that he gets the nom) against Trump will be all it takes to quell these social forces that are beginning to be unleashed doesn't know fascism. Ask a Classic Red, especially a Trotskyist. Trotsky wrote a LOT about the rise of fascism and we all studied it. Fascism's arena of choice is in the streets and that's where it going to need to be fought. And don't expect much help from the cops because a LARGE, if undetermined, percentage of the cops are fascist themselves.
To beat the fascists it will take people willing to engage in physical confrontation with these people.

(2,337 posts)This seems a little backwards B girl to me. I'll eat my words if it turns out to be true, but a doubt a gang of guys saw her piece, tracked her down, then culminated their plan with a punch and a political endorsement. It just seems too cartoonish to me. With all the manufactured incidents like this in the news lately, my bs detector is getting pretty tuned. Like I said. I'd like to be proved wrong. Wait and see, I suppose.

(14,330 posts)The writer is decrying a "lack of decency" on the part of the belligerent Trump supporters, but not in the painting itself.
Just because I hate the target of the painting doesn't change the fact that it's a very low blow. Imagine the outrage here if it depicted Obama or any well-known male Democrat.
Note that I am not excusing the assault or threats.
