This is the son of a dear friend of mine. He's 17 and was left paralyzed from the shoulders down in a diving accident last summer.

They are currently trying to raise funds for a Sesame Enable smart phone that will allow him to use the device completely hands free. Here's a link to their site...this will life changing technology for so man in the disabled community. It was developed in Israel and is just beginning to be actively marketed in the US. Texas already pays for them for the disabled community. I sincerely hope this expands nation-wide soon.

Recently an old classmate started a gofundme for her son's medical bills. She has over 200 friends on FB, but none of them kicked in even $10 to support her. Maybe they are all living paycheck to paycheck or something.

Another classmate, her little sister had a very serious stroke in January. She was able to raise about $4,000. Maybe has richer friends.

Another classmate of my little brother, a girl he really liked, died of breast cancer at age 50.

Well, there is no point raising money for that one, but I am trying to get a couple of clubs involved in the local relay for life.

Which is why my blood boils when I hear/read about scams.

But I do believe in karma.
