Not Even Chris Christie's Wife Could Handle Trump's Offensive 'Woman Card' Comment

by Valentina Zarya APRIL 27, 2016, 11:47 AM EDT

We feel you, Mary Pat.

As Donald Trump celebrated his sweeping victory in Tuesday night’s Republican primary election, he took a jab—or, well, many jabs—at Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate that Trump appears most likely to face come November.

During his victory speech, the billionaire called Clinton “crooked” and said she would make a “horrible” president. But what really has the Internet up in arms is Trump’s comment about Clinton playing the “woman’s card”—the GOP frontrunner’s own version of the “gender card” comments made earlier this year by Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who said “the gender card alone isn’t enough,” in reference to Clinton’s campaign.

The real beautiful thing, however, was the reaction of Mary Pat Christie, wife of Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ), who was standing behind Trump at the moment he said those words. Part disbelief, part exasperation, her facial expression was quickly turned into a 6-second Vine video by a user named Nick Corasaniti and has since been viewed over a million times.

One possible reason for the Vine’s popularity? It seems likely that Christie’s expression mirrored the reactions of at least some of America’s female population, half of which dislikes Trump.

"It is the entire basis of her candidacy..."

You of course, have objective evidence supporting your allegation, yes? Or (and I find this more likely) was yours was merely another petulant, irrational bumper-sticker in a long line of biased allegations lacking any objective evidence (but it would look cool on a t-shirt, right?).

I understand... last night must have been difficult.

Hillary has made her gender a central focus of the campaign. So its her own fault if her political opponents use the gender card too.

There she was standing behind him... making faces.

Her and her idiot husband should have thought about that before they threw
their support behind this buffoon. Cry me a freakin river.

than laborers or clerks?

Not that laborers and clerks are not good people or noble jobs, they are, but that our system is set up such that these are the people who rise to the top?

Think about this please.
