We need a Democratic Socialist Superpac.
Strange as that may seem ---
In what follows I assume, as seems most likely, that HRC is the Democratic nominee for president and Trump the Republican nominee, but little would need to be changed if Bernie is nominated and nothing if Cruz or Kasich or Ryan were to be nominated by the pubs.
The question is: what becomes of the "political revolution" after the primaries are over? Does the ability of Bernie to raise yooge amounts by small contributions just disappear and go for nothing?
The answer -- I suggest -- is a Democratic Socialist Superpac. This fund would have to have access to Bernie's email list and fund-raising expertise and must be credibly committed to the ideals of Bernie's campaign. Its first activity would be to support the Democratic nominee for president in the fall with the usual sort of superpac activities, and, even more importantly, to support Democratic Party candidates down the ballot who speak for those ideals. It should be a permanent fund, so that after the election it would continue to present the Democratic Socialist view of issues before the government. In future election years it should commit its support, in primaries and general elections, to candidates who will build a democratic socialist infrastructure for the Democratic Party.
