Severe Outbreak Continues in Plains

Tornado and severe thunderstorm watches have been issued, including a particularly dangerous situation tornado watch, as an outbreak of severe thunderstorms, including tornadoes, hail greater than baseball size and high winds continues in the Plains. This threat is expected to extend east into parts of the Mississippi Valley on Wednesday.
NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has issued the following severe weather watches:
A tornado watch is valid until 12 a.m. CDT for much of Oklahoma and parts of north-central Texas, including Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Dallas. This watch is a particularly dangerous situation and a few tornadoes are likely. Widespread large hail up to 4 inches is possible, along with wind gusts up to 80 mph.
A tornado watch has been issued until 9 p.m. CDT for portions of central and eastern Kansas and southern Nebraska. The watch area includes Wichita, Kansas, Topeka, Kansas and Hastings, Nebraska.
A severe thunderstorm watch is valid until 2 a.m. EDT for portions of West Virginia, far western Virginia, Kentucky, southern Ohio and eastern Indiana. The watch area includes Cincinnati, Ohio, Lexington, Kentucky and Charleston, West Virginia.

(380 posts)They don't care about climate change and now, a hundred years of their pollution and irresponsibilty is causing unstable weather patterns all over the globe. Every "drill baby drill" Rethug who ever blocked any environmental measures should be charged as an accessory to murder for every weather related death.

(68,918 posts)4-ish a.m.= Tornado siren goes off/phone makes that loud annoying noise.
I fumble for my phone, squint at it, read the "take shelter now" message, eye the distance to the walk-in closet (reinforced storm shelter) and decide to take my chances...
We're fine here in Houston.
