Rahm fires Blaine Elementary principal, seems like political revenge

So disgusted. When I was looking at houses, I considered Lakeview neighborhood and had heard that this school was pretty popular.

To be outspoken is often a sign of someone who truly cares.
This principal, an outspoken critic of Rahm Emanuel, just got "relieved of his duties" over spring break. Parents are staging a sit in.

(You might remember him for having given his support for one of our candidates in this ad:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511467202)

To be a bully is to pick on someone who is less powerful than you. When you have the office of president, you have to take the high road (LIKE OBAMA DOES) when subjected to criticism from opponents. Revenge by the powerful is disgusting.

Rahm being a blocka and tackle chief of staff was one thing, but as mayor, this is inappropriate.

Skinner, et al, have asked that primary discussions be kept in the primary forum.

Many of us are sick and tired of posters who think they're being oh-so-clever by slipping in primary crap into GD.

It's not clever. Not even a bit.

I am so confused by this man, Rahm. He was supposed to be a 'good guy' and yet, I keep hearing in the news he is not doing his job. And the job he is doing is not in service to the community, including cover-ups for racist cops.

during the 2008 election campaign one of those two expressed what seemed to be sincere concern about obama's ties to the corrupt chicago political world. apparently emmanuel is one of the schmucks who tagged along for the ride. to obama's credit he didn't keep the guy around.

likewise i think the rather conservative economic policies are all to do with his ties to the ultraconservative uchicago econ school where they worship at the altar of friedman. and let's not forget this shit:

And he's never been a good guy.

His closing of public schools and then supporting of Charter Schools to replace public
schools is an example of not being a real Democrat.

There are more issues where he acts more like a (R) then a (D).

Re Rahm's comment in August, 2009, while White House chief of staff - at a meeting, notoriously foul-mouthed Rahm referred to Democratic liberal activists as "fucking retarded".

White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel apologized to the head of the Special Olympics today after the Wall Street Journal reported the fiery Chicagoan privately called a group of liberal activists "f---ing retarded."

Last August, Emanuel "showed up at a weekly strategy session featuring liberal groups and White House aides," the Journal's Peter Wallsten reported . "Some attendees said they were planning to air ads attacking conservative Democrats who were balking at Mr. Obama's health-care overhaul. 'F—ing retarded,' Mr. Emanuel scolded the group, according to several participants. He warned them not to alienate lawmakers whose votes would be needed on health care and other top legislative items."

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2010/02/rahm-apologizes-for-privately-calling-liberal-activists-retarded.html

NOTE THAT HE DID NOT APOLOGIZE THE DAY AFTER HIS SLUR, OR THE WEEK AFTER, OR THE MONTH AFTER. HE ONLY APOLOGIZED WHEN THE INCIDENT WENT PUBLIC THE FOLLOWING YEAR!

How's this, Rahm. I'll call you out here and now as a piece of shit, and I will simultaneously apologize to all other pieces of shit, because you are way worse than them.

He's a machine politician. And a mean one. He's known for political knife fighting and saying "fuck" a lot. He's a-political actually. He represents whatever he needs to say to get elected. Once in office, he's all about big-business deals in the back room and "access"

He was my congress man before going to be Obama's Chief of Staff until Daley retired in Chicago, when Rahm teleported back here. I've met him several times as a congress man and mayor. Rahm is interested in things that enrich him and his buddies. He hangs on to whatever he needs to to get the job done. If Chicago was a Republican town, he'd be a Republican. The guy doesn't give a crap about any party so long as he gets his.

In the 2006 Democratic wins to take back Congress. Three people were engineering that. Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Howard Dean as the head of the DNC and architect of the "50-state" strategy. Rahm was in there during that as a Congressman. He sensed they were the ascendant ones and attached himself to that process. He did exactly nothing but be in the background at meetings. He led nothing, he advised nothing, he was just there agreeing with the people actually doing the work. And for that, he got to stand on stage that night in November and act like a big shot.

That's Rahm. He is a pure political animal. He's clever and he's a survior, but he has zero principles and cares only when its his ass that's out there.
