Thank you for letting us weave you into the fabric of our community. We loved you as our neighbor and we hope you felt our love and our welcome. We appreciated your gentle humanity as well as your music. You gave anonymously and humbly to our town, our schools but we knew it was you behind all those large donations! You enriched our lives and made Chanhassen a better place.
Rest in peace, neighbor. You left a legacy and you made a difference.

(6,344 posts)His eclectic music reached various people.
And yes, some of his music I did not like. But the songs I did, I really liked. Hence, his music spoke to many people in various ways.
The Minnesota Twins baseball team have an annual initiation ritual. All new rookies have to learn, and sing, all the words to "Little Red Corvette" !
There was a video of it, but I can't find it now. They showed it on the news a couple days ago. Very fun!
Prince was Minnesota Grown.

(7,888 posts)How sad is that? A genius, musical prodigy, and decent human being has left the planet. Was he a victim of a religious moral code or a cult? The similarities with Michael Jackson are extraordinary. imo
Violets and Lillies of the Valley I offer in his memory.

(19,926 posts)The only similarity I see is musical artistry, but Prince was way beyond Michael with that, and flamboyant/extravagant performances.

(1,232 posts)that he's left his home to be a school and museum, and a trust funding a universe of music, education and charitable giving for the next generation (or two or three).
X fingers.

(6,344 posts)He was such a humanitarian, secretly. Your comments might just be true. He loved his fans and community. A hopeful wish of mine is that Paisley Park will become a museum open to the public.
The sound stage and room holds about 200 people. They could keep up with small concerts. The admission fees for concerts and to the museum, would pay for the upkeep of Paisley Park.
Many thumbs up!
