Happy Hour, the venue is Miami Vice, and it is outstanding. I never watched it back when it was Thing, but now with all the situation (cartels, whatever) it is *relevant*!1

The differences today would be for the minorities to be the lead roles.

Besides Don Johnson, pretty much all of the cast were black and/or Hispanic.

He's narrated several excellent documentaries...my favorite is A Class Apart. Love listening to him.

next to various versions of Star Trek and perhaps Babylon 5.

Fabulous cinematography, mesmerizing Jan Hammer music (never much cared for the pop stuff), original and daring story lines, interesting and unexpected guest stars, Don Johnson being his most charismatic self, and so much more.

Cheers to you, Yuiyoshida!

I collect Jan Hammer's music. I've had this disk for about 30 years.

But, so much of the Vice music was never officially released on CD.

On YouTube, fans of the show post unreleased Jan Hammer and Tim Truman music that has been extracted from the episodes, using digital methods to remove voices and incidental sound effects.

Also, there's this fellow named Dadrian Wilson on YouTube who recorded/covered some of the ones that were never released. His work is really good.

(For a while, the rumor was that Mr. Wilson is Jan Hammer under a pseudonym. The music and sound is that good. This rumor is false.)

See you around DU, Yuiyoshida. Your video postings are most excellent.

Really enjoyed the 'Miami Vice' show- the scenery, beaches, speedboats, the style, story, tropics, diversity, vibes..

Many wonderful times there, for decades.

The Tropical Beauty, The Keyes, Key West, Vizcaya, Kendall, Coconut Grove, Little Havana, South Beach, Art Deco Buildings, the Architecture, Old Miami;

The Music Scene, Carlos Santana, Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound, Cuban, Latin, Afro Culture, Restaurants, Cuban pork sandwiches, Café con leche; Boutiques, Clubs, Beaches, Ocean Drive, Biscayne Bay, Intercoastal Highway, Lauderdale, Key Largo and more.

Visit during SuperBowl 2006 or 07 was fabulous, did up South Beach, town was packed & rocking!

Sigh. Almost moved to the Keyes.

These are a real treat, I look forward to watching soon!

When younger I thought I was born in the wrong century, should have been the 18th or 19th. Seems weird now, but ah youth is wasted on the young, as GB Shaw or Oscar Wilde said.

I've long been attracted to oceans, coastal culture, tropics, warm water & climes. Tropical beauty, flora, fauna & palm trees! So am actually a Tropics and Exotics Sea Lover, modern though. Enjoyed beautiful Kauai, Hawaii too, Rio in Brazil, the Mediterranean in the South of France. Had opportunities because of family in FL and sister was a travel agent in Miami; airfare & travel were less expensive years ago. Dad recognized I'm a Traveler early on, will go about anywhere! He thought it was cool. Mom too loved culture, art & travel.

Don Johnson is STILL an asshole.

Always was. Never knew him to be anything but condescending and narcissistic. And just plain rude.

You can judge the character of a person by how they treat 'the little people'. He was never nice to any of us lowly staff and crew on shows.

was my parents trying to collect these stupid collectors tumblers at a gas station or something. We would drive all the way from San Diego to Long Beach to Ontario trying to find these stupid plastic cups.

Why do I remember? Because I threw them away a few weeks ago.
