I hope any Wisconsinites who might happen on a critical thread or post, will recognize that. Just as grief needs a victim, disappointment and frustration needs someone to blame.

I've largely stayed out of the threads on the Wisconsin recall, because, I'm just sad and worried about what this may portend. But, I am surely proud of those in Wisconsin for fighting well against staggering odds.

The Wisconsin Democratic Party is not a single entity. Democratic voters spoke up bravely; worked hard; took risks, made some serious gains; and almost won.

Democratic State Legislators acted courageously to stop some processes long enough so organizers could make plans and start asking for help.

However; local union officials and many local Democratic party officials were terrible -- and so was the National party.

The DNC was simply disgraceful. I would say the same thing about our current National political leader, but I know that comment isn't welcome here.

With just a little timely support, we would have won yesterday. We lost because of our own leadership; not because the Republicans beat us.

There's a massive amount of negativity and doomsday talk today. It'll probably carry through to the end of the week.

Wisconsin did us proud. Instead of moping, we need to be fanning the embers of the fire Wisconsin started.

and spreading the word here.

I don't blame the voters, 8:1 spending rates are hard to deal with, and you still took the Senate.

Walker got 2/3 of his money from out of state. It isn't my state and not my job to mess with it. Out of state money and paid "supporters" from out of state don't belong in an election. It's unfortunate that what should be banned money bought Walker's job, but it isn't illegal, just unethical.

I get tired of state bashing.
We have the Jesse Kelly vs. Ron Barber election coming up. Citizens United has been pouring bucks into Kelly's campaign.
This is for the seat of Gabby Giffords. This month. Fingers crossed.

But I did what I could. I posted relentlessly "outside the bubble," which is always frustrating, never yields immediate gratification, but is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!!!

On election day I got the "robocalling" alert out to as many places as I could.

And I voted against Diane Harkey here at home, even though she had zero chance of losing.

Once you consider the open 7 to 1 spending ratio between Walker and Barrett Wisconsin Dems did superbly.

After you throw in all the money we'll never know about, it's probably closer to 10 to 1.

So the Wisconsin Dems (and those who donated from out of state to the recall, as I did), did their best. It took an order of magnitude more money in order for the Republicans to buy an election that should have been in the bag for them from the beginning.
