http://www.nj.com/opinion/index.ssf/2016/04/chris_christies_judicial_wedgie_sheneman_cartoon.html<snip>
It's been a tough few months for Gov. Christie.
First, his presidential ambitions died an untimely death at the hands of the two worst Republican candidates in recorded memory.
Second, still blinded by the possibility of getting out of Jersey, he pledged his fealty to one of those candidates, a man who more closely resembles a bag of off-brand beef jerky than a viable presidential candidate.
Now, forced to return to his day job of governing the state of New Jersey, the forlorn governor has been judicially pantsed in his six year quest to reshape the state Supreme Court in his own image.
After literally years of stonewalling, the governor finally gave in and nominated a Democrat for a state Supreme Court vacancy. A vacancy he created when he summarily dismissed another justice in good standing in the hopes of bending an entire branch of government to his will.
In surrendering the court fight he handed state Senate President Steve Sweeney, a prospective gubernatorial candidate and a democrat, a big win.

<snip>
A new anti-Donald Trump ad campaign launched Friday imagines New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie crying for help as he stands next to the Republican presidential candidate he endorsed.
In one billboard, Christie flanks Trump in a widely mocked photo of the governor looking positively morose after his endorsement of the billionaire. A thought bubble with HELP floats over Christies head.
Bridges Over Politics for New Jersey, the group behind the ads across Christies state, are urging the governor to condemn Trumps rhetoric, which the group says is hateful, sexist, and racist.

(80,708 posts)5. He's hoping for an AG slot in a Trump administration.
Like Debbie Wasserman Schultz, he seems perpetually pissed that the feds arent arresting pot smokers in legal cannabis states.

[EXCLUSIVE] SON OF BRIDGEGATE. Christie required a NJ county GOP to promote Trump or face consequences

[Update] (I was able to verify the information with a NJ county GOP official read the comments from Mr. Crone below)
This Facebook post by Camden County, NJ Republican Municipal Chair Tom Crone indicates that NJ Governor Chris Christie required that Donald Trump be promoted above other candidates on the ballot, and that there would be political consequences for not going along with Christies demands:
No discussion was had and no vote was taken. The call was not to seek input but to declare. Chairman Booth made it clear that jobs and appointments were more important than qualifications or integrity of candidates to be endorsed and that it was clear there would be political consequences if he did not go along with the Governors demands.
I spoke to the author of the message on Facebook. Mr. Crone verified that the conference call was made with the County GOP officials. Mr. Crone defined the County Line as basically a promotion of a candidate in the first line or column on a ballot and the ones most certain to get voted for. Here is what he said:
This sounds like it could be a potential election violation.
The Washington Examiner has been writing about this recently, claiming that Christie plans to walk into the convention with a group of 51 NJ delegates that he can use as a bargaining chip. According to the article, the delegates that are being lined up are luke-warm for Trump, so that Christie can tell them which way to go if he makes a better deal.
