Behind every great fortune lies a great crime, indeed. Almost NONE of them made their cash entirely "on their own" either . . .

Mukesh Ambani – inherited his start from his father

Lily Safra – married into fortune

Ira Rennert – Junk bond trader, profited off of troubled companies, major Republican donor

Lakshmi Mittal – inherited his Steel beginnings from his father, slave labor profiteer

Rinat Akhmetov – resource billionaire, alleged ties to organized crime in Ukraine

Larry Ellison – benefited from tech boom at right time, one of first clients was an Air Force base, Rand Paul supporter.

Roman Abramovich – Russian resource billionaire, linked to LOTS of criminal activity (see a pattern here?)

Ken Griffin – Hedge fund titan, got his start with a modest investment of over a quarter million from friends and family.

Bill Gates – rich and well-connected parents, benefitted from 70s tech boom, job offshorer and charter school supporter.

Masayoshi Son – invented translation device sold to Sharp for $1m.

Ron Baron – Founded Baron Capital, focused on companies with long-term health, contrary to the financial piracy-laden 1908s Wall Street.

Yuri Milner – Well-Connected parents, started business career by selling illegal DOS computers in the USSR.

Stanley Kroenke – Father owned his own business, married Ann Walton (yes, from THAT Walton family).

Tamara Ecclestone – Heiress, Daughter of Formula One billionaire Bernie Ecclestone. ‘Nuff said.

Daniel Loeb – Hedge fund titan, rich parents, aunt created Barbie and co-founded Mattel.

Dmitry Rybolovlev – Russian billionaire, got his start from his rich father, acquitted of contract killing at 29.

Ekaterina Rybolovleva – Dmitry’s daughter. ‘Nuff Said.

Petra Ecclestone – See “Tamara Ecclestone” above. ‘Nuff Said.

Oprah Winfrey – eh. Got no qualm with her. Made her green from modest means, one of the few on this list that did.

It is sad how the Ecclestone sisters waste their dad's money. It is sad that he allows them to waste his money. It could be argued that they are the new poster children for the need for an Estate Tax.

That and the Capital Gains tax will be the first to go once the IRS is eliminated. They're not hitching their wagons on this position for altruism. They're doing it to get a free ride off our backs.

Heiresses/Heirs of the wealthy are the worst. Born on Home Plate, think they hit it out of the park ("Thanks, daddy!&quot .
