Polling places should be closed before the vote count begins

I realize that we live in an instant gratification culture and that includes in the political world. But there are two reasons that the vote count should not begin until after the last polling place has closed: 1 - Networks have a bad habit of calling races, and aren't always accurate. 2 - Candidates also have a habit of conceding while voters are still standing in line. Each of these can tend to have a chilling effect on those who just want their vote to be counted as well.

Whether the exit polls, the networks or even the candidate(s) themselves are saying that the election is over, it doesn't say a lot to those who have yet to cast a ballot except "your presence here is no longer necessary".
