Defendant in Skaneateles court claims sovereign status, says he doesn't need license to drive (NY)

“I am still alive," Major said. "All we are concerned with is a traffic ticket you have for driving without a license.”

“I am Nicolas Brokhoff, a descendant, an all caps name,” the defendant said.

“Either you plead guilty or not guilty,” Major said ...

I've read a few websites propounding this nonsense, but haven't hit the mother lode of it.

They just use the sovereign citizen nonsense to try and confuse cops and judges. They also use to try and rip off ignorant people.

Bet he's really not going to like that.

Then again, why waste the money? Fine him and keep his car in the impound lot until his paperwork is straightened out.
