Suit challenging Cruz eligibility reaches Supreme Court

What is apparently the first lawsuit to reach the U.S. Supreme Court challenging Ted Cruz’s eligibility to run for president has now been filed. But it’s not likely to go anywhere.

A retired Utah lawyer, Walter Wagner, claims that Cruz does not meet the Constitution’s requirement that a president must be a “natural born” citizen. Cruz was born in Canada, and Wager contends that fails the natural born test.

In mid-March, Wagner’s case crashed shortly after takeoff for the reason other lawsuits asserting the same claim have failed. He could not meet the test for showing why the candidacy would cause him any particular harm.

Wagner said he had “a vested interest in insuring that all candidates for the position of president are legally qualified.” Somebody has to step forward, he said, so it might as well be him.

The Democratic Party is managing to tear itself to pieces and I frankly do not know what it stands for. Maybe the United States could hire a foreign manager maybe Canada has some major talent and the United States could outsource that job.

with the exception of old time democratic politicians like Bernie and Hillary, good people don't want to get into politics in the USA. In Canada, with our parliamentary winner take all system , if you win the election you can really get a lot of good things done in 4 or 5 years. Much more rewarding than the gridlock cum sabotage that is the US Congress today. Courtesy of the GOP and gerrymandering and money in politics. I think you have more than enough lovely people who aspire to public service. They are just scared off by how politics are in the US. And i'm sure that is intentional on the part of the GOP. They just want puppets in power. Not real leadership. After all leadership just made them face great progressive ideas over the first 3/4 of the 20th century. And what a horror that is to the GOP.

Nothing intimate but from party functions on the Missori Arkansas border. I definitely would have reservations attributing anything qualified as good to Bill other than working a room and getting groupies. I also understand Hillary's fake smile and do not blame her for that married to a goat, her line of pure BS is but pale reflection she learned from Bill. Charm only gets you so far they are wildly complementary when you go fetch them something. Bill and Hillary brought to you by Tyson foods and Walmart.

As far as Sannders he sounds like an old time liberal but I do not know him personally.

The Canadian citizenship issue if it became an issue would be cleared up in court.

Bit of a stretch, no?

I heard Hannity once refer to Shrub as "Commander in chief of the world"

Same sort of nonsense

WTO DG is not elected by people, they are picked by countries + perhaps corporations.

But the WTO tells countries what to do. And they have to do it.

I think naturalized citizens should be able to run after maybe ten years additional residency.
