this is just nuts. April 7 and 87 degrees. I think we are already screwed and we are seeing results from what we have done for the past 10 years at least, and, I don't think we can fix this. Trees are not supposed to be full bloom till the middle of may, they are full bloom now. All I can say is wholly shit.

(33,345 posts)Or so I'm told by very important meteorologists. It's just an(other) anomaly. Enjoy it! After this rainy AF winter, we deserve sun and warmth.

(2,227 posts)comes around. All that underbrush will be huge with all the rain. I hope California gets more rain. I think it will take like 10 years for the aquifers to replenish tho so they will be in drought for awhile.

(26,403 posts)They can buy time by restricting agricultural use - moving to brown water. That won't play well though with the vineyards, and interior farmers. Until they can figure out economical desalination, it's going to be a perpetual tension with drought a fact...

(2,227 posts)to the mid 60s so there's that. We beat the record today by 9 degrees. Even the squirrels on my porch are wondering what the hell is going on. Lying flat on their bellies eating peanuts.

(2,227 posts)all over the place and its only gonna get worse. We have the huge cold blob in the north atlantic, and to me, its gonna change the conveyor belt that keeps the UK and northern Europe warm. Sort of like the movie, the day after tomorrow, only its a little slower.
I had to study meteorology as a pilot so I know a little bit about weather patterns and what we're seeing is going to get worse from here on out. Right now, really severe droughts in southern Africa way worse than anything we've seen. The southwest US isn't going to recover from droughts there for a long time if ever. Starting to think about moving further north I guess. think Ill watch The Martian again as see if maybe we could actually move there

(15,810 posts)Hard to say really. It was a hot dry summer last year. We've had plenty of rain this spring - just several spells of sunny weather too. This current streak is just weirdly warm. I think it's only supposed to be 82 today.

That's climate, not weather.
