Donald Trump and "The Snake"

He is reciting that poem at his campaign stops.

What a dark view of the world.

It's a spin on the fable of the "Scorpion and the Turtle" or the adopted boy in Russian lore who kills his parents.

Vigilance and prudence is required. Hate is not!!!

...and puts it in his pocket to warm it up, and is rewarded with a bite that kills him. Suggesting that dealing with furriners and dangerous minorities is dangerous because it is in their character to bit the hand that feeds them. Trump's creed is that deception and force must be used against those untrustworthy elements in the U.S. and the world at large. He's on record saying that our opponents must "fear" us.
