Do you ever feel guilty for a comment you made while serving jury duty?

I recently made a comment I wish I could take back. It wasn't bad enough to ban me from jury duty, but the comment was out of character for me. Mostly out of frustration, but still, I shouldn't have said what I said.

I'm only eligible now due to the amnesty.

And I don't regret my comment one bit

There are two or three people on one candidates protected group that I have developed a burning hatred to the point I will ignore but will watch their opinion as a bench mark for positions to avoid.

Mean and Nasty While, Frustrated after being called to jury for the like the 6th time, being told the jury was filled, jury notice not going away having to log out, come back on to DU,getting called again. The jury at last seats and it was in one of the 3 or 4 groups I had trashed because of the, shall we say unpleasantness and I went off on their "argument" Normally though I would bend over backwards, sometimes and if I couldn't be fair in most cases I would back out.
I don't miss it, they did me a favor taking me I was going to copy and paste my remark but now it isn't showing up.

in one if those groups created just to keep that crap contained. There was a reason I had the religion, Guns group and HOF trashed, so that I never had to see them and never get called for jury duty in there and that little feature was supposed to be a perk for donating to this site. The admins didn't announce that trashing a group no longer protected you from having to deal with them.

I don't know what to say about your opinion of me. I don't need or nor do I desire anyone's approval on this planet or in this universe.

Some of the alerts make me think rather unflattering thoughts about the alerter, but while I want to write something like "You idiot! How do you function in the Real World?" or "Are you enjoying your visit to our planet?" I settle for something like "I do not see how the post violates the TOS".

we all need to chill and not let emotion take over our good judgement and common sense. I know there are a number of people who have tried to provoke me and I have about 200 on ignore. Just take a deep breath and keep calm and carry on. Words hurt but there are reasons people react negatively and we don't know what is going on in their personal lives. I am dealing with loss and sometimes I wish I could take back words I never would have believed I would have said and I am new here and want to make a good impression on many here who I barely know but admire with all my heart. You are one of them!

So many alerts arise simply because someone disagrees with an opinion. It appears many people here on DU believe they are the guardians of what the site is supposed to be, what opinions are allowed, and the bright line between the sacred and the profane. The attitude of superiority reflected in some of the alerts tempts me to fling it right back, but that's not what jury duty is for.
