http://deadstate.org/armed-anti-muslim-protesters-turn-tail-and-run-from-mosque-when-met-with-armed-counter-protesters/This is an armed defense maneuver, making sure that our communities are safe and secure from any insurgents coming in, Krystal Muhammad of the New Black Panther Party, who was armed with a shotgun, told Fox4. We wont allow anybody to come in and try to intimidate our brothers and sisters.
The Bureau of American Islamic Relations (BAIR) made news stalking Muslims in Irving back in November, and in December, they targeted Muslims at the Islamic Association of North Texas....
Soon after, BAIR left without incident.

(15,333 posts)Think of it as an analog to "Islamophobe", which the BAIR dickheads certainly qualify as...
I'll even use it in a sentence, so as to demonstrate proper use:
"I've yet to hear an ammophobic poster announce that they personally appeared unarmed
to counterprotest armed Islamophobes"
I find it a fitting moniker for those whose reactions to firearms are visceral and overly emotional.

"but principals of the original Black Panther Party of the 1960s and 1970s a militant, but non-racist, left-wing organization have rejected the new Panthers as a "black racist hate group" and contested their hijacking of the Panther name and symbol."

(6,852 posts)I was just pointing out in this case both sides are scumbags.
But the constitution does protect the rights of scumbags.

https://www.aclu.org/aclu-history-taking-stand-free-speech-skokie
In 1978, the ACLU took a controversial stand for free speech by defending a neo-Nazi group that wanted to march through the Chicago suburb of Skokie , where many Holocaust survivors lived. The notoriety of the case caused some ACLU members to resign, but to many others the case has come to represent the ACLU's unwavering commitment to principle. In fact, many of the laws the ACLU cited to defend the group's right to free speech and assembly were the same laws it had invoked during the Civil Rights era, when Southern cities tried to shut down civil rights marches with similar claims about the violence and disruption the protests would cause. Although the ACLU prevailed in its free speech arguments, the neo-Nazi group never marched through Skokie, instead agreeing to stage a rally at Federal Plaza in downtown Chicago.

This had a significant impact on law enforcement in the United States, by making what became known as the Miranda rights part of routine police procedure to ensure that suspects were informed of their rights. The Supreme Court decided Miranda with three other consolidated cases: Westover v. United States, Vignera v. New York, and California v. Stewart.

(3,557 posts)Give the open carry people a taste of their own medicine. Like with a bully as a kid, sometimes you need to fight back - even if its what they tell you not to do at school.
I don't have a taste for violence, but I can stomach it if I need to (I've been in numerous firefights).

(4,229 posts)I can see a day when we have some sort of situation where the dems win and the GOP with guns refuses to accept it. Rather than trying to steal the election by stealth or remove the nominee by impeachment they will go for armed intimidation.
When that day comes I don't want just 1 side to have all the guns.
