The GOP is using Ted Cruz to defeat Donald Trump and will throw both of them overboard...

as soon as their convention arrives. Neither will have the necessary 1237 delegates to claim the nomination.

Ted Cruz is the only person that can stop Trump but he will have nowhere near the number of delegates needed and the GOP establishment hates his guts.

Just as Karl Rove stated yesterday, the Party will be looking for a new face. Both Ted and the Donald will be on the outside looking in.

I wanna know who did his exams for him at university, him and George W. , neither are capable of degrees at their respective universities.

The cruz delegates are as nutty as he is and they won't relent. If he could turn enough trump delegates, he could get the nomination.

People attacking trump and helping cruz are playing a dangerous game. cruz is by far the worst person running.

Pubbies historically fall in line, but this year might be different.

They will be pissing off the fearful and racist, Trump's base, along with the crazed Religious Right, Cruz's base.

So whoever they pick will need to throw some scraps to each group. Those attempts to pull the groups together will motivate independents and Democrats.

Between them they'll have 85% of the delegates.

Also, Ted Cruz has been working the delegate selection process and getting his people named as Trump delegates.

The Republicans can survive depriving Trump because he really isn't a Republican but rather a big government authoritarian strongman type and is a spectacularly bad fit according to the rest of the party.

But the Republicans can't deprive him and also Cruz, who is a true Republican who fits the party's ideology, in favor of someone for whom no one has voted.

Besides, who would want that nomination under those circumstances?

Ryan would be a very strong opponent for both Hillary and Bernie. The GOP smear machine already has enough material for Hillary. They probably have had it ready for years. And now they have the email server stuff. Bernie will face an onslaught on his "tax and spend" "socialism." The scare tactics this time against either potential nominee will likely worthy of Lee Atwater himself, who managed to smear the straight as an arrow Dukakis with letting Willie Horton out of prison, not to mention trying to make him seem "red" at the debates by being "a card carrying member of the ACLU", etc
