For some reason, this a fact of life DU'ers have a hard time grasping.
It wasn't stolen. It wasn't Obama or the DNC or DLC's fault.
Some people are just fucking dumb.
The good news is that come November, dumb voters will probably fall in our favor......not because they recognize Obama's policies are turning this country around or that we are better off than we were three and a half years ago, but because he seems like a "good guy".
At least we have that going for us.

(37,152 posts)Oh yeah, there's no way to prove anything - again.
People are dumb alright - dumb enough to believe you have a real democracy when votes aren't verifiable.

(24,331 posts)That it's "not verifiable" is simply wrong.

(37,152 posts)You would not be crying for "proof" had we one... Talking like that just sounds petty and ignorant.
Take a loss with grace and fucking move on.

(1,721 posts)And Kathy Nickolaus found 10,000 paper ballots for the state-wide SC judge who was down by 9000. What ever became of the investigation of that?
Do you know what? Every time someone wants an investigation, Dems and GOPers put down their differences and decide that nothing really needs to be done in order to ensure fair elections.
It's bullshit.

So how did the repukes pull that off? How did they get these historic numbers for a loser like Walker?

(205 posts)There should be no doubt that this election was counted fairly.
Why do we have to 'just trust them' when it comes to our elections?

(8,646 posts)I mean, a big part of it IS that. But not all of it.
As per the Milgram experiments, at least 60% of the population prefers to follow people who exude an air of authority. Guess who is 'exuding authority' at every turn.
Hint: It's not the democrats.
That particular genetic make up, along with unprecedented spending in marketing (aka propaganda) and you have people believing unbelievable lies. Make a few ads that hit on every one of Maslow's needs, and the troops will follow.
Not just dumb, but duped. And not only duped, but so duped they are proud of it. Not sure there is any way to fight this. I agree, the one thing Obama has going for him is he's a 'good guy'. More people will vote for that one trait than anything positive he may have done so far.

(5,693 posts)Republicans are better at getting them to the polls by appealing to what works with Low Info voters: Emotions. Preferably negative ones.
Democrats need to play the same game, but they are inherently ill-equipped to do so. Therefore 'our' LI voter stays home, too apathetic and emotionally not engaged enough to care.
