funds. Why? Because the negative slime ads clearly work. And if not an indictment on our nation, it is an indictment of much of the voting public.

I don't undersatnd how in the hell my family can vote for people who hate them (my mom is gay). I don't understand how my family can vote for people who say it's okay for MEN to make more than their daughters, granddaughters, sisters, etc.
I don't understand how my middle and lower class family votes for those supported by billionaires.

I just don't get it and I'm so tired of it that I just don't think I can have kids here. I really don't. I have three degrees and hopefully get work somewhere else.

Seriously?

What walker's been up to - you LIKE that? You approve? Really????? This is good what he's been doing????

Yeah, I don't understand any of that, either, a la izquierda. I do not. It's against everything I believe in - as the mother of a daughter just getting started out in the workforce now. I say that having lost a gay friend. He unfriended me on Facebook, after we got into increasingly heated and somewhat bewildering arguments. Hates Obama. Hates everybody else too, including romney, because they're all alike and they all take money from Wall Street and on and on and on. And he just can't find it within himself to support the only President who ever stuck his neck out this far for the gay community. That just means utterly nothing to this fellow. Didn't go far enough! Shoulda done this other thing instead!

Unbelievable. I still think it's part of this fairytale thinking - if I just keep voting republi-CON and keep voting republi-CON, I'LL be rich, too, someday, like they are! I think that's how some people just choose to overlook what the facts are, because they're looking beyond facts to that magic day when voting republi-CON will somehow pay off in their pocketbooks. Not realizing that trickle-down is actually "pee-on." Which is what they're doomed to be, in perpetuity, if they keep swallowing republi-CON fairy stories.

I'm developing a product right now. Today I spent time sourcing out some parts. I have been very clear about China's manufacturing role in the world, since the early 80's. But today was a real eye opener. Tungsten carbide parts are pouring out of China, and hardly anything in the US. I've never seen anything so extreme. I literally cannot find this part outside of China. We have rolled over. And the manufacturing is just part of what we're talking about. But they are all part of the same equation. We sold our soul. America mortgaged it's future.

It's a hard place to live if you have brains, and love good things.

Here's something to cheer you up. I'm not much of a jazz fan any more. More of a punk lover. But this guy was captivating and brilliant. And French.

when the Supremes decided Citizen's United...

I've said the same thing more than a few times before and always bounced back to my usual optimism.

But this election demonstrated the real and corrupting power of superpacs and I truly fear for the future today. Damn shame.

The longer you pay attention to politics, the less often you'll give in to fear or heartbreak.

Yes, Citizens United has made the playing field rather uneven, but if people can't see the uneven in their own working lives from day-to-day, how will they see through the $$$$$$$ spent to keep them stupid?

They have to really suffer. And the Koch Bros are rubbing their hands and drooling in anticipation of all the suffering...but in the end these types always lose.

The Short Loser List:

Gingrich

Limbaugh

Cheney

Rove

Rumsfield

The hated *

We could make a long list.

Those people up there are all loathed, and some fear to leave the country.

The Kochs and Walker are headed for the list.

To anyone upset:

Politics works slowly and backwards sometimes, but don't give in to fear.

Just remember

the rules

have changed.

the bigger issue I see is if he wins, looks like he will, it is a clear signal that outspending works EVEN when you clearly overreach, lie, etc as he did. Toss in all the legal issues he's got going on and he still wins?

I know lots of people are not tuned in to politics but WI was such a great example of not just doing it wrong but overreach, lying, stomping on the 99%, and so on, yet the money seems to make all that go away.

What's the future of this country with citizens united and the GOP plus their superpacs looking to outspend the president 2 or 3 to 1? And they are running a good deal on a bunch of crazy BS lies while touting the same BS of tax breaks for the rich, gutting social security, slashing government and banging the drum of big military spending if not war with Iran.

We are fucked up if what happened in WI wasn't enough for the people there to see how wrong he was in what he did. So many did so much to make their voices heard there and united together yet it didn't wake enough people up or they went right back to sleep.

bought and owned by the corporates. The politicians are for one thing and one thing only, the free ride to wealth. They have everything in their favor and can't lose. They should be tried as the criminals they are except they make the laws and buy the judges. We have to stop this now. It's not worth living in this country, if I have to live in fear.
