doesn't help Israel. You need to deal with the reality you are given, not the reality you wish for. If there is ever to be peace between Israel and Palestine it will take both sides stopping on insisting that the other side is entirely to blame. The policies presented in today's speeches at AIPAC are policies that only drive the two sides further apart.

(62,444 posts)Is that the reason the US was able to act as a facilitator of the Camp David Accords was because both sides saw us as an honest broker of the negotiations.
If the US is to be of assistance to the parties in negotiating a settlement, these types of proclamations aren't helpful to rekindling what was, at one time, a promising process.
Both sides need to dispense with absolutism - and they also need a mutual friend to help them sort their differences in a manner they can live with.

(15,805 posts)blames the US President for Israel's political problems. Pandering? Why, Trump would have America serve as a client state of Israel and launch a 21st century religious crusade against the billions of believers in Islam, catering to a foreign power without regard for the costs in blood and treasure, or our own domestic and global interests.

every freaking discussion on DU, that has to get slipped in one way or another. where's that going to leave the party if/when she wins the nomination? disunited and vulnerable to 1 of 2 loathsome, actual fascists.
she's not an end-times lunatic or a malignant narcissist. yes, she's more of a hawk than Sanders. EVERYONE in DC is more of a hawk than Sanders. the presidency would force Sanders to be more of a hawk than he is now. he'd disappoint 90% of DU, just like Obama has.

They both do love American Exceptionalism.

(2,404 posts)...I realized that he is doing exactly what he has been doing for a long time. He is making promises that he will not be able to keep. Can you imagine him brokering a peace deal between these two enemies? He is a thug!
