On Bill Clinton

OK: Let me throw some disclaimers out so that people do not say "You just hate the Clintons, you Obamabot scum!"

Yes, he is the most successful Democrat since Truman. JFK might have been more, but he died too quick for us to see. Yes, our lives are better for him being president. Yes, if Hillary is the candidate in 2016, I will vote for her, as she is miles above anything the GOP can or will offer. Yes Bill Clinton is a fundraising juggernaut and a morale boost, at a time when we NEED both.

OK, we got that out of the way?

The fact is, when he says we should allow the Canadian oil pipeline, or that we should not attack Mitt on his record at Bain, or that we should keep the much hated Bush tax cuts, he is making it very clear that HE wants to set the agenda, and that agenda will stay SAFELY TO THE RIGHT. As hateful as it sounds, he is helping his friend son the right. This is twice as dangerous as the main reason many on the left are lukewarm about Obama is because they VOTED AGAINST BIPARTISANSHIP. Obama was not supposed to imitate Bill, much less appear like he is taking orders FROM HIM.

Yes, there are many, especially in those ever catered to "Reagan Democrats"/Independent (cough) voters/er, I did not vote for Bush brackets, would love to have that 3rd and 4th Clinton term. Many of them really WANT that warm, mushy Center. However, the fact is, the modern GOP is far to the right of even Newt Gingrich. They need to be told that they will NOT automatically get a chance to ask for an inch when they have taken a MILE!

Let's also be blunt, we might have had more leeway to be "bipartisan" ten years ago. The world has changed. We are NOT the almighty colossus everyone has to fear anymore. To be really blunt, everyone, from the Europeans to the Russians to the Chinese to the Latin Americans, are so sick of our BS that they finally unified. That does not mean they are in good shape, to the contrary, all of them have big problems which anything could set off, meaning they can all turn desperate. That means that even if they wanted to trust us again, they might not have the leeway. Of course, let us not forget that the mid east will not simmer down, and that the Global temperature is going up. Yeah, let's NOT forget that last part..

The point is, Bill may have good intentions, but he needs to avoid acting like he is a way to sway the Oval Office. Also, if he wants his wife to win in 2016, the last thing he needs is to give the GOP ammo, as they will imply he is in control.

PS: Let's face it, his running his mouth (and his wife's campaign) was what did her in. If she divorced him, went on Oprah, had Madonna congratulate her on the divorce, she would likely be president.

Not sure if I agree.

In any case, I certainly agree that he's not helpful.

You have no problem with extending the Bush tax cuts, getting the oil pipeline, or leaving Bain alone?

Those are Bill's words, not extreme reaches.

5. What I think you are missing is that Bill Clinton is not talking to you and I

He is talking to the middle. Not those of us on the far left. That is what he was brought in for.

That is what he knows how to do better than any other person I know of. And we need those votes in November.

lower income white males did vote for him ... they will never listen to Obama and we all know why. It is incredibly frustrating but you are correct.

Maybe we can stop begging the Reagan Democrats not to hate us, and go full tilt. It is obvious that the independents will gladly sell us out.

Her Israel policy sucks, but she is good, it's the fact her Husband likes to use any leverage to keep us stuck in Dixie-style dixecrat ville.
I still say that if she divorces Bill and gets the Orpahs, Ellens, Rosies and Madonnas behind her, she would CRUSH any opponent.
